Accountex 2022 is almost here, and we can’t wait to see you there. After two long years, this is a special moment for so many across the industry to all come together.

This is Xero’s ninth year exhibiting at Accountex, but it’s my first time experiencing this legendary accounting event. I’m really looking forward to meeting many of you in person and hearing more about your businesses, especially after such a tough few years.

We’ll have lots of the Xero team at our stand for a chat, but here are four other reasons to come and see us at Accountex this year.

Speak to our Making Tax Digital experts

It’s a critical time for the government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) legislation. We’ve just passed the MTD for VAT phase two deadline, and we know many of you are supporting small business clients with this transition. We’re also getting closer to MTD for Income Self Assessment (ITSA) in 2024.

MTD is one of the largest ever changes to the tax system, and we’ll be sharing more on how we’re supporting the industry with this drive to digitise. Through product demos, talks or by approaching our team on the ground, we’ll aim to tackle any questions you may have about digital tax in your practice.

Our education and product experts have a great line up of masterclasses on our Xero stage (stand 450). It’s an opportunity to learn more about our products and ask any questions.

Come and grab a coffee or do some networking at the Xero cafe. Or take some time out at the ‘Xero Braingym’ station at our stand, where we’ll be putting visitors head-to-head in a fun math challenge. There will be prizes for taking part and we’ll also have a leaderboard of the top winners.

And if you get thirsty after all that brain training, we’ll be serving free mocktails throughout the event.

Hear about the trends shaping the industry

Our UK Managing Director, Alex von Schirmeister will be giving a main stage keynote speech on the Keynote A Theatre, at 12pm on the first day. He’ll be reflecting on the trends impacting accountants and bookkeepers. This will include topics like the small business economy, changing world of work, evolution of ecommerce and the importance of wellbeing. Don’t miss it!

Alex will also be at the Xero stand (stand 450) on day one, so please come over if you have any questions or want to say “hello”.
